Two Maoists in police custody?

Correspondent

VIZIANAGARAM: Damayanti alias Aruna, area coordinator of CPI (Maoists) Nagavali dalam was reportedly taken into custody from a house at Piridi village in Bobbili mandal late on Wednesday night.

Her accomplice Emanapalli Santosh alias Kishore, who was also an area coordinator, was not home at that time. On returning, Santosh informed mediapersons of the arrest and sought their help.

They both had reportedly decided to join the mainstream and stayed at one of their relatives’ house. Santosh was said to have surrendered before the police after the raid and they were reportedly brought to Vizianagaram.

N. Sriramulu, Bobbili DSP denied knowledge of the raid and the arrests. Superintendent of Police Vikram Singh Mann might brief the press on Friday, the sources added.
