This Day That Age
Miss Marian Anderson, noted contralto, who was recently acclaimed in Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Calcutta and several other Asian cities for her singing genius, has been nominated by President Eisenhower to membership on the U.S. delegation to the 13th session of the U.N. General Assembly opening on September 16, 1958. Miss Anderson during and after her highly successful Asian tour has won high praise abroad and at home for her efforts at international understanding, and her nomination to the U.S. delegation is further official recognition of such efforts.
