MANGALORE: Amrutha Mokal (7.5) of Maharashtra continued her giant-killing spree to jump in to joint lead at the end of the ninth round of the second Mangalore FIDE rated chess tournament here on Thursday. With this victory, Amrutha has joined the leaders – GM Dibyendu Barua, IMs Himanshu Sharma, Balasubramaniam Ramnathan and B.T. Murali Krishna (TN) with 7.5 points. The results: Round 9: Himanshu Sharma 7.5 drew with Balasubramaniam Ramnathan 7.5, Chandra Sekhar Sahu 6.5 lost to Dibyendu Barua 7.5, Varugeese Koshy 7 drew with Pravin Thispay 7, Sriram Sarja 6.5 lost to B.T.
