Digjam to focus on premium worsted suitings market

CHENNAI: Digjam Limited, a part of S. K. Birla group, will focus on the premium market of worsted suitings by introducing innovative blends of fabrics. The share of premium suitings will increase to five per cent out of total production from the present level of one per cent. The company is planning to come out with a woollen fabric costing Rs. 10,000 a metre.
According to Ravinder Sharma, Vice President (sales and marketing), the company was turning out 5.5 million metres of suitings fabrics annually out of which it exported 2.6-2.9 million metres of fabrics to various countries. Italy accounted for 1.2-1.4 million metres, he said.
It has also plans to enter the readymade segment soon. Digjam has 40 exclusive outlets in the country with three in Tamil Nadu.
