Fall of Congress imminent: CPI (M)

ADILABAD: Nomula Narasimhaiah, Communist Party of India (Marxist) floor leader in Assembly on Thursday said political realignments in the present circumstances will take place in the State. However, due to the situation being fluid no finger can be pointed towards parties that are likely to align with it.

Answering questions at a press conference, Mr. Narasimhaiah predicted the fall of the Congress Government both in the state and at the Centre.

“The reason for Congress to be voted out of power will be its ignoring of people’s problems like inflation, power shortages short supply of fuel and the like,” he opined.

The CPI (M) leader was in Adilabad to flag off his party’s jeep yatra across Telangana districts taken up to high light the problems faced by residents of urban areas and municipalities.

He criticised the State Government for showing utter neglect towards the problems found in slums and other areas of municipalities.

Continuing with his criticism of the State Government, Mr. Narasimhaiah said Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy failed to contain viral fever deaths in agency areas.

“He has failed to protect rights of tribals despite promises to the contrary. The Indiramma scheme slogan of ‘Intinta soubhagyam’ does not hold any water under such circumstances,” he pointed out.

The CPI (M) leader also pointed out the failure of the Government to reopen the closed cement factory in Adilabad though the Chief Minister had promised to open it. CPI (M) district general secretary Bandi Dattatri and Lanka Raghavulu also attended.
