Multiple-entry business visas to ASEAN sought

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Mahesh Desai, vice-chairman of Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC), has appealed to ASEAN nations, Australia and New Zealand to issue multiple entry business visas.

Addressing a seminar ‘on Focus ASEAN+2 (Australia & New Zealand)’ here on Thursday, Mr. Desai said that the visas were being given liberally. He urged Paisan Maraprygsavan, Deputy Consul-General (commerce) of Royal Thai Consulate; and Md. Zainuddin A. Jalil, Trade Commissioner, Consulate-General of Malaysia, to extend necessary help in the businessmen getting multiple entry visas for a long term.

This would accelerate business ties immensely, he observed. He also wanted them to arrange for more number of inbound business delegates into India as they could explore business opportunities here.

He said that the southern part of India had a huge potential of engineering products and IT services.
