Train services to resume from July 27

Staff Reporter

BHUBANESWAR: The East Coast Railway (ECR) on Wednesday said it had restored normal services of around 12 trains, which were cancelled and diverted due to breaches on Kharagpur-Bhadrak section of the division.

Most of these trains would resume their services from July 27. The trains that would run on normal route included Puri-New Delhi Neelachal Express, Trivandrum-Shalimar Express, Howrah-Tiruchirapalli Express and Shalimar-Nagercoil Express. However, it has been over a month that service of several trains is yet to be restored after the devastative flood. People had staged demonstration against Indian Railways for “discriminatingly” keeping passenger trains off the track.

The trains which remained cancelled included Bhubaneswar-Howrah Dhauli Express, Bhubaneswar-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express, Howrah-Vasco da gama Amaravati Express, Puri-Howrah weekly Express and Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Orissa Sampark Kranti Express.

Similarly, Ranchi-Bhubaneswar Garib Rath Express, Puri-Patna Baidyanathdham Express, Patna-Ernakulam Express, Chennai-Guwahati Express, Chennai-Dibrugarh Town Express, Jharsuguda-Sambalpur Passenger, Kharagpur-Khurda Road Passenger and Jharsuguda-Kantabanji Passenger.
