Revision of photo electoral roll on

PUDUKOTTAI: District Collector Reeta Harish Thakkar on Thursday appealed to the members of the public and political parties to take maximum advantage of the summary revision of photo electoral rolls currently on in the district.
Addressing the leaders of political parties here, the Collector explained the eligibility norms on inclusion of names of fresh voters with qualifying age of 18 years as on January 1, 2008. She also highlighted the norms on deletion of names and for effecting changes in the address.
Applications for addition or deletion of names would be received up to August 5 and be finalised on August 18. Work on inclusion of photos will be done up to August 25. The final draft will be released on August 30. The draft roll had been released and displayed at 762 designated polling booths, 327 post offices and the offices of the Electoral Registering Officers and the Assistant Electoral Registering Officers.
Enumerators would conduct a door-to-door verification of the draft rollhouse.
Representatives of various political parties including Naina Mohamed (DMK); M. Tamizhselven (Congress); M. Chinnadurai (CPI-M) and S. P. Muthukumaran (CPI) participated in the meeting.
