BERHAMPUR: Slowly peace is returning back in Tumudibandh block in Kandhamal district which had become tense due communal tension since July 8. With improvement of law and order situation the Kandhamal district administration has lifted the restrictions imposed under Section 144 of IPC in the area. But restraints still remain over holding rallies and public meetings under Section 30 of the IPC. According to administrative officials no escalation of tension has been reported from any part of the block during past two days. But intense patrolling by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) still continues in volatile areas like Tumudibandh, Malipada and Jalaspeta. Three platoons of CRPF jawans and three platoons of Special Operation Group (SOG) personnel are deployed in the area as precautionary measure. According to the Kandhamal Superintendent of Police (SP), Nikhil Kumar Kanodia situation was under control. Ramkrushna Padhi of Nagarik Surakshya Manch said they were trying hard to maintain peace in the area.
