Government hospital vacancies to be filled

BANGALORE: The State Cabinet has decided to recruit 815 doctors and 5,245 paramedical staff to fill vacancies in various government hospitals.
The Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) will recruit doctors. The Deputy Commissioners in each district have been asked to fill vacancies of paramedical staff. The recruitment process will be completed in the next two months, Minister for Health and Family Welfare B. Sriramulu told the Legislative Assembly on Thursday.
The Cabinet decided to seek more funds from the Centre for drought-relief measures. It discussed the drought in many districts in detail and decided to constitute a Cabinet subcommittee to monitor the situation. The Chief Minister will nominate members to the subcommittee.
Cloud seeding will be undertaken in view of the deficient rainfall in most of the districts, the Minister said.
The Cabinet also discussed the election of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council. But it was decided to hold the elections after the ongoing budget session of the legislature.
It also discussed the Pay Commission report submitted by its Chairman, C. Gopal Reddy, on increasing pay scales of government employees. But no decision was taken.
