Detained under Goondas Act

PUDUKOTTAI: A prohibition offender Veeramani of Konnakaadu village near Alankudi was detained under the Goondas Act on Thursday.

The Superintendent of Police, P. Moorthi said that Veeramani attacked a Sub-Inspector of Police, Kaliyaperumal, during a raid on the outlets of illicit brew in the village on May 31, 2008.

Based on the recommendations of the police, Collector Reeta Harish Thakkar issued the orders detaining Veeramani under the Act.
