DEHRA DUN: Uttarakhand State Meteorological Centre director Anand Sharma has been selected for the Young Scientists Award-2008 in the field of atmospheric sciences by the Union Ministry of Earth Sciences. The award will be presented at a function in New Delhi on July 27. Regular weather bulletins prepared by Mr. Sharma containing advisories on rain forecasts and protection measures pertaining to fields and fertilizers have become very popular among the farmers in the State.
