Fertilizer stock is adequate: official

TIRUCHI: The cooperative societies in the district possessed adequate stock of fertilizers.

The farmers could approach the societies and get any quantity of fertilizers at the rate fixed by the government, Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies Rama Jayampandian has said.

He was speaking at the members education programme at the Kattuputhur Primary Agricultural Cooperative Bank organised by the Tiruchi District Cooperative Union here on Wednesday.

He said all the women self-help groups attached to the Kattuputhur PACB were prompt in repaying the loan dues.

These groups have repaid the entire loan amount sanctioned to them without any instalment default he said and commended them for the same.

Special officer of the Cooperative Union S. Mathivanan said fertilizers were being provided to the farmers through the cooperative societies even on credit.
