Reprieve from power holidays sought

HYDERABAD: Representatives from different industrial areas in and around the city met the Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Thursday and requested him for a reprieve from the power holidays recently extended to twice a week. Presidents of the Industrial Development Areas at Nacharam, Uppal, Jeedimetla, Sanathnagar, Mallapur and Cherlapally met the Chief Minister through facilitation from the FAPSIA. They requested the Chief Minister to exempt at least the small scale industries from the extension of power holidays. The Chief Minister, while assuring them that the power holidays were a temporary measure, is learnt to have promised to consider the request favourably.
