Antique idol recovered; three arrested

HYDERABAD: The Hayathnagar police on Thursday recovered a stolen antique idol of goddess Laxmi with the arrest of three youngsters. They were riding two bikes when the police intercepted them during routine vehicle checking in the early hours.

The arrested persons, Ch. Shiva Chary, T. Chandraiah and K. Vishnu, confessed to the police that one Laxmaiah of Pothugal in Karimnagar gave the idol to them to find buyers. He promised to give them Rs. 5 lakh as commission.
