BJP will forge alliance in State, says L. Ganesan
Staff Reporter
ERODE: The Tamil Nadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party will go in for an alliance in the State for the Lok Sabha elections, according to its State president L. Ganesan.
Addressing journalists here on Thursday, Mr. Ganesan said, “Rather than contesting alone and winning fewer seats, the party will go in for alliance in the State to win more seats.”
He reiterated the BJP’s stand that it would welcome any party that accepted L.K. Advani’s leadership.
Ramar Sethu
On Ramar Sethu controversy, Mr. Ganesan said the party was for a complete review of the project, including whether it should be implemented at all. “The project will spell a doom for fishermen and is economically ill-conceived as destruction of the Ramar Sethu will lead to erosion of Thorium deposits in the region.”
On the Hogenakkal drinking water scheme, Mr. Ganesan said, “Karnataka has no right to intervene in the project, which is rightfully Tamil Nadu’s.”
