Achuthanandan unhurt in mishap

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan escaped unhurt on Thursday when a chunk of mortar from the ceiling fell on his cot minutes after he had left his bedroom.

“He had just finished his morning yoga exercises, which he usually performs on the bare wooden cot on which he sleeps, when the mortar fell. The chunk was quite thick and nearly three square feet in size. Fortunately, he was in the bathroom getting ready to go to the Assembly,” one of his aides said.
