Cut in power to industries opposed
Special Correspondent
KOCHI: The proposed 25 per cent power cut from Friday onwards will upset the working of industrial units in Kerala, said Mr R. Mohandas, President of the Mattancherry-based Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in a statement issued here on Thursday. While the industry catering to the internal market will not be able to maintain supplies as per requirements, the manufacturer-exporters will find it difficult to fulfil their commitments to the overseas buyers.
The Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the power cut will adversely affect industries in the State. In a statement, chamber chairman E.S. Jose said the government was not creating the required infrastructure though it was inviting mega projects such as Smart City, LNG terminal and Vallarpadam container transhipment terminal.
