UGC workshop on ethics

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Speakers at a two-day workshop organised by the Department of Philosophy, NSS College for Women, highlighted the need to revive ethical values through a fresh approach to the process of knowledge acquisition.

Inaugurating the University Grants Commission (UGC)-sponsored workshop, Vice-Chancellor of the Sri Sankaracharya University for Sanskrit, Dr. K.S. Radhakrishnan exhorted philosophers to simplify theoretical concepts and take them to the common man by living as examples.

College Principal Dr. Kumari K. Prema presided over the function.

Coordinator Dr. G.P. Sumukhi was also present. Students presented a dance form highlighting the role of ethics in art. A magic show on the theme of ethics was another highlight. Participants of the workshop spoke on values, self development, character ethics and values.

Teachers drawn from colleges under the Kerala University, research scholars and students attended the workshop.
