Coimbatore: Alandurai Police are investigating into a complaint preferred by a group of people about a person who duped them by posing as government official. People thronged the police station on Friday and complained that a person identifying himself to be John Moorthy had deceived them by assuring that he would to get them welfare assistance from the government. He was staying in a house on Siruvani Main Road in Alandurai. They alleged that Moorthy had collected money “for bribing officials”. The people realised that they were duped only on finding that Moorthy had vacated the house overnight with his family. Agitators removedThe Tirupur Police on Friday removed more than 50 residents, including women, when they attempted to stage a road roko in protest against the dumping of garbage by the civic body at Velliangadu.
