This Day That Age
The new Government of Iraq has conveyed to the Government of India its intention to withdraw from the Baghdad Pact, it is understood. The Iraqi Government have also informed India that they would adhere to the Bandung principles. At a meeting with the Iraqi Foreign Minister, Brigadier Abdel Jabbar Al Jomar, the Indian Charge d’Affaires in Baghdad, handed over India’s official recognition of the Iraqi Republic’s Government, Baghdad Radio reported in an Arabic broadcast on July 24. The Iraqi Foreign Minister also received the Charge d’Affaires of Afghanistan and the Minister Plenipotentiary of Belgium, Baghdad Radio said.
