Rourkela Steel Plant to host chess championship

Rourkela: Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) will host the under-15 and under-17 Orissa State Chess Championship - 2008 at the Biju Patnaik Stadium under the aegis of the Orissa State Chess Association from August 9 to 14.

The championship will be organised as per the FIDE rules, stell plant sources said on Friday.

The top four players of under-15 and top two players of under-17 of each group of boys and girls will be selected to represent the State in the forthcoming national chess championship scheduled to be held later this year.

Cash prizes, trophies and certificates will be awarded to winners and rank holders, they said. - PTI
