Srikakulam: Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Visakhapatnam Range, Sandeep Sandilya has called upon police officers to accord more importance to collection of scientific evidence than purely relying on unreliable human witnesses who are likely to turn hostile. Participating in the "Police Duty Meet-2008" hosted by the Srikakulam SP and his team for the Visakhapatnam range police officers here on Friday, the DIG said studying the scene of crime diligently, photographing the scene and appraisal of materiel evidence were crucial to delivering goods. Mr.Sandeep while congratulating the winners of competitions at the range level said the officers should ensure that the cases filed by them in the courts did not get defeated for want of credible evidence. Vizianagaram SP Vikram Singh Mann and Visakhapatnam SP Akun Sabarwal spoke. Srikakulam SP Ch. Srikant, who presided over the meeting, said scientific evidence was something that nobody could destroy in any case.
