Religious fervour: A Sikh performs a feat with his ’kirpan’ (sword) at Benz Circle in Vijayawada on Friday on the occasion of arrival of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Jagriti Yatra into the city on its way from Chennai to Visakhapatnam. The yatra, which started from Nanded to celebrate the 300th year of the Holy Coronation of Shri Guru Granth Sahib, has a vehicle that carries a handwritten copy of Adi Granth, the Holy Book of the Sikhs, and holy ’shastras’ (weapons) used by Shri Guru Gobind Singh and other Sikh martyrs in their ’Dharma Yudh’. —
