540 litres of kerosene seized

KOZHIKODE: District Supply Officer (DSO) P. Babu and his team has seized 540 litres of kerosene from a hotel at Arayadathupalam here on Thursday. The kerosene, originally meant for domestic consumption, has been diverted to be used as fuel in buses. The team consisting of Supply Officer N.T.Surendran and city rationing officers K.P. Velayudhan and P.K. Unnikrishnan also seized equipments that were used for filling fuel onto the buses from the hotel. Judicial procedures would be initiated against the hotel owner under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, Mr. Babu said. — Staff Reporter
