Residents block road

VIRUDHUNAGAR: Irate residents of Kanjchanpatti blocked the Sivakasi-Vembakottai road on Thursday night following a fatal road accident involving a State-run bus.

The police said that the town bus knocked down G. Ponnusamy (35) near Mankondanpatti at around 8.50 p.m. Over 100 villagers blocked the road demanding action against the bus driver. Later, the police pacified them on the promise of prompt action.
