TRAGIC: The decomposed bodies of the children found in a sack in the woods near their house at Amayur in Pattambi on Friday. Pattambi: Investigators in the Pattambi murder case on Friday found the bodies of a woman and two children on the premises of the house in which they lived at Amayur here. The body of Lissy, 33, wife of Chakkambuzha Parambethu Rejikumar, was found in a septic tank. The decomposed bodies of their children Amal, 9, and Amanya, 3, were found in a sack in the woods near the house. A large crowd gathered in Amayur as the police combed the area for the bodies. Forensic experts examined the place. On Wednesday, the bodies of their children, Amalu, 12, and Amalya, 8, were found in the house. Post-mortem examination of the bodies of Amalu and Amalya were performed at the Thrissur Government Medical College on Thursday. It revealed that Amalu was sexually abused several times. Rejikumar and Lissy were working as rubber tappers in Pattambi and lived in a rented house. On finding the doors of the house closed for long, the house-owner examined the premises on Wednesday and detected the bodies. Rejikumar is absconding. The police suspect that he committed the murders. Investigators suspect that Lissy was murdered on July 8 and the children on July 12 and 22. All were strangled to death. Inspector General of Police P. Vijayanand said the police had intensified efforts to trace Rejikumar. The police have no clue about the motive of the murder. Rejikumar and Lissy reportedly had marital problems. “Such incidents are rare. The motive eludes us. Is the murderer a psychopath? The post-mortem examination reveals that one of the children was sexually abused and killed. We are probing various angles of the case,” a police officer said. The police interrogated local residents to trace Rejikumar. “He told neighbours that Lissy had left for her house in Kottayam on July 9 and had not taken Amal and Amanya along as the buses were crowded. Neighbours had seen Lissy till July 8. Rejikumar was seen taking Amal and Amanya somewhere on July 11. They returned to the house in Pattambi two days later. Rejikumar brought Amalu and Amalya, students of the Ramapuram Vellilappally St. Joseph’s School, from Pala to Pattambi on July 22,” the police said. The bodies of Amalu and Amalya were laid to rest at the Arunapuram St. Thomas Church in Pala.
