CPI (M) to intensify stir against deal

Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: Describing the “wining of confidence” by the United Progressive Alliance as “shameful”, the Haryana State Committee of the CPI (M) on Friday announced plans to intensify its ongoing campaign against the Indo-US nuclear deal, according to a press statement issued in Rohtak.

Speaking at the two-day meeting, CPI (M) leader Nilotpal Basu said : “The confidence motion achieved by most dubious methods of horse-trading and cheap manipulations can never be described as an approval for carrying forward the controversial deal.”

CPI (M) Haryana unit secretary Inderjit Singh said the State Committee also reviewed the situation prevailing in Haryana and expressed concern over the deteriorating power crisis, rampant commercialisation of education, skyrocketing prices, worsening law and order and denial of social justice to the ordinary citizens.
