Party organises protest near GVMC office Use of ‘naked money power’ condemned VISAKHAPATNAM: The TDP on Friday organised a protest at the Mahatma Gandhi statute at the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation office deploring the ‘belying of parliamentary values’ by the UPA Government and by the manner in which it had won the trust vote on July 22. Former MP and party vice-president M.V.V.S. Murthy said the Congress would stoop to any level for the sake of power. He demanded that the TDP MP who had supported the trust motion and others who defied their parties resign and seek a fresh mandate. Some of the cadres present raised slogans against former MLA S.A.Rehman who announced his resignation from the TDP on Thursday. Sweets were distributed among cadres. TDP urban and rural presidents C.M.A. Zaheer Ahmed and Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy, former MLA Gana Babu, Gudivada Nagamani, floor leader in the GVMC Nalluri Bhaskara Rao, Telugu Mahila (Urban) president A.Vani and several corporators participated in the protest. Leaders condemned the ‘naked money power’ that was used to influence the outcome of the trust vote. The Congress and its allies brought shame on the nation as happenings in Parliament proved, they said. Describing the Congress as ‘corrupt,’ the TDP leaders accused it of mortgaging the sovereignty of the nation by going in for the nuclear deal.
