Vamshi hits double century

HYDERABAD: V. Vamshi Ram’s double century (213) and a century each by Md. Asad Ali (105) and Aravind Shetty (101) helped Syndicate Bank score an imposing 534 against V.S. Raju Cricket Club in the A-division (two-day) league cricket championship match here.

The scores: A-division (three-day): Andhra Bank 364 for seven (Amol Shinde 76, N. Arjun Yadav 68, Naveen Reddy 57, Aashish Reddy 44, Nandakishore 41 batting) vs. India Cements.

A-Division (two-day) league: Syndicate Bank 534 (Md. Asad Ali 105, V. Vashmi Ram 213, Aravind Shetty 101, A. Shakeel 63 n.o.) vs. VS Raju CC; R. BVB, DRS move up

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and DRS International School qualified for the knock-out phase in the boys section of the sixth Dr. Emily Emanuel inter-school basketball tournament here.

DRS School downed one of the favourites St. Patrick’s High School 39-29 in a well-contested match, while Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan won its third match on the trot with a 15-9 win over Martinet High School.

Easy win for Srinath

Srinath of Satyavani defeated Hemanth (TCS) 8-0 in the men’s singles first round of the TCS tennis tournament organised by Sportz Mantra here.
