Two Czech nationals granted bail
Special Correspondent
Kolkata: The two Czech nationals, lodged in a Darjeeling jail for over a month, following their arrest on charges of collecting insects from a national park without permission, were granted bail on Friday. The Czech Republic “has thanked the Indian authorities for their cooperation and is pleased with the decision of the court”, Ambassador Hynek Kmonicek told The Hindu over telephone from New Delhi.
Earlier this week, he visited the Ministries of Home and External Affairs urging their cooperation for speedy disposal of the case, hampered by the recent ‘cease work’ by lawyers in Darjeeling.
