Online scholarship disbursement from Oct.1

Kakinada: The process of on-line disbursement of post-matric scholarship amounting to Rs 4 crores every month is commencing with feeding of applications from August 1 to 15.

About 1 lakh S.C, S.T, B.C and disabled students will draw scholarship from October 1 when the on-line registration, verification and opening of bank accounts in the names of students will be completed.

Due to complexity of the task, live demonstrations are being given to officers of the welfare departments concerned, college principals and students at GSL Medical College, Rajahmundry and VSM College, Ramachandrapuram, on July 28 and Konaseema Institute of Medical Sciences, Amalapuram, on July 29.

Addressing mediapersons, district Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi said the verification of applications, certificates and records would be done at the institutions by field level departmental officers and bank officers from August 16 to 31. The field officers would make recommendations to district officers between September 1 and 7.

Cheques are issued in the name of nodal banks from September 19 to 25. Scholarship would be credited to student accounts by nodal banks from September 26 to 30, after which they can draw the money.
