List of information officers released

COIMBATORE: The Coimbatore Corporation has released a list of officials, who will function as information officers of their wings. People can apply to them for information under the Right to Information Act.

The Executive Engineer (East) is to be approached for matters relating to works in East and West zones of the city. For works in the West and South zones the Executive Engineer (West) is the Information Officer. For all schemes to be implemented under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), the Executive Engineer (JNNURM) is to be approached.

The other officials (with issues/area of functioning in brackets) are: Assistant Commissioner, Administration (matters relating to administration and workers), Accounts Officer, Water Supply (matters relating to water supply account), Assistant Commissioner, Accounts (revenue and expenditure) and Town Planning Officer (issues relating to the planning of city development).

Matters relating to the zones will be handled by the Assistant Commissioners concerned.

Applications should be submitted along with receipt for Rs.10 paid to State Bank of India or a demand draft or a cheque for the amount. The amount can also be paid to the Corporation treasury or it can be paid in the form of a Rs.10 court fee stamp, a release said.
