Kerala
The indiscipline of students and youth in Kerala has reached alarming levels. One of the primary reasons for this is the lack of hope or direction for them, which is exploited by all political parties. Barring in the professional colleges, education has become absolutely vague and lustreless. Parents have to become role models and make their children understand that they have no right to damage public property. If there can be a structured program by experienced senior citizens to guide youngsters and instil hope for a good career and devotion to the mother land, the scenario can change. There should be support extended by the ruling governments to make the effort successful. Police should take impartial and strict action to book the culprits. They must be persuaded to come out of such heinous activities by persuasion, advice and counselling. The media should play a lead role in making this transformation possible and Kerala should become an example for others to follow. N.R.U.K. Kartha Thiruvananthapuram
