Ravinder and Girnaz are champions

BANGALORE: Ravinder and Girnaz claimed the boys and girls singles titles respectively in the Coliseum ‘08 collegiate badminton tournament conducted by ICFAI Business School here on Saturday.

In boys’ singles final, Ravinder defeated Kunal 17-18, 15-12, 15-13 while Giaz crushed Chandini 15-0, 15-1. The finals were played on old format (best of 15 points).

Book on Khade

Pratham Book House will release a book on swimming sensation, Virdhawal Khade here on July 29.

The illustrated biography, penned by freelance writer, Mala Kumar will be formally unveiled by fellow swimmer and Olympian Shikha Tandon.

Other swimming Olympians including Nisha Millet and S.H. Hakimmudin are expected to grace the function which would also be attended by the Beijing bound Khade, who is expected to return home on July 28 after a training stint in the US.

Vijay posts win

Vijay Sadarangani defeated Aruldas 153-111, 147-150, 151-116 in a State-ranking billiards tournament qualifying first round match at the KSBA Hall here on Saturday.
