BHUBANESWAR: A safety and occupational health awareness programme for engineering students was inaugurated at KIIT University by Chief Secretary Ajit Kumar Tripathy on Saturday. The two-day awareness programme has been jointly organised by KIIT University and Labour and Employment Department of the State Government. More than 200 participants from 13 engineering colleges and seven universities are attending the programme. Inaugurating the programme, Mr. Tripathy said the objective of the programme was to enhance the global awareness on serious diseases and the urgent need for collective effort to tackle the situation. He appreciated the organisers of the programme for joining hands on the issue of occupational health. Welcoming the participants, A. Samanta, Founder, KIIT Group of Institutions said that KIIT was committed to strive for better and healthier environment.
