Security stepped up at border

Krishnagiri: Security has been stepped up along the inter-state border in the wake of the serial blasts in Bangalore on Friday.
Policemen armed with automatic weapons have been deployed at check posts bordering Karnataka. According to a senior police official, ‘frequent checks are being conducted at bus stands and lodges round the clock and informants have been alerted to provide information on any suspicious activity.’
The District police have set up special booths and activated night beats at all important locations and places of public importance in the district said sources. The police are maintaining a tight watch on all explosive godowns in Krishnagiri district. The railway police have stepped up vigil and open line patrolling in all railway stations in Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts. Mobile patrolling had been intensified.
