New safety guidelines for motorists

NEW DELHI: In an effort to reduce road accident hazards during the rainy season, the Heart Care Foundation of India has issued new road safety guidelines for motorists.

The guidelines advise motorists not to drive very fast, not speed through standing water, check tyres and wipers, keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front, not change lanes and understand that dark traffic signals or blinking red lights mean everyone must stop.
