MCC ‘A’ wins
CHENNAI: Madras Cricket Club ‘A’ clinched the MCC-V.P. Thirumurthy Trophy inter-club squash tournament, defeating MCC ‘B’ 4-1 in the final held at the MCC courts here on Saturday. The tournament is sponsored by VST Group. S.K.A. Manickavasagam, President, MCC and T.G. Thyagarajan, VP, MCC gave away the prizes.
The results (final): MCC ‘A’ bt MCC ‘B’ 4-1 (Vicky bt Manoj 9-7, 9-0; Arun lost to Bharat 5-9, 9-4, 4-9; Srivatsan bt Jerry Lakshman 9-0, 9-2; Hemant Mehta & Siddarth bt Nikhil & Bharat 15-12, 15-13; Srivatsan & Badri bt Manoj & Jr. Meyyappan 15-10, 15-10).
Third place play-off: Cosmo ’A’ bt Gandhi Nagar 4-1.
