Advani blames it on lack of tough terror law

New Delhi: BJP leader L.K. Advani has blamed the spate of blasts on the lack of tough anti-terror laws and a weak intelligence machinery.

“It looks like our anti-terror legal framework is not up to the mark and it got exposed,” he said reacting to Saturday’s serial blasts in Ahmadabad.

Asked whether BJP-ruled States were targeted in the recent incidents, Mr. Adjani said: “I cannot make a conclusion on that. It is a matter for probe by intelligence agencies.”

He said the explosions were part of a “sinister design” of terrorist organisations to create panic.

Mr. Adjani, who is the Lok Sabah member from Gandhinagar, asked the Centre to take immediate steps to deal with the situation. — PTI
