Many areas of Capital reel under power cuts

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Residents of several colonies in the Capital on Saturday protested against unscheduled power cuts ranging from two to five hours daily.

Alleging that the power distribution companies had failed to provide any explanation for the unscheduled cuts, a resident of South Extension Part-I, Ravi Shankar, said: “When we ask the discoms, they blame it on the demand for power. When we ask the Government, it blames the weather.”

Residents claim they have been suffering from frequent and intermittent cuts, specially in and around South Delhi.

Worst hit

Among the areas worst hit are Garhi near East of Kailash, Kailash Hills, Govindpuri, West Patel Nagar, Mayur Vihar Phase III, Sheikh Sarai and Lado Sarai.
