Saran and Radha sizzle on rainy day

COIMBATORE: Chennai’s Saran Vikram and Radha Selavarajan won a double each on a wet day in the third round of the JK Tyre National racing championship at the Kari Motor Speedway in Chettipalayam here on Sunday.

It was raining heavily for most part of the day but that did not seem to deter Saran and Radha. Saran found Delhi’s Karthik Shankar a tough nut to crack in the opening race of the Formula LGB Swift category. The duo battled hard before Saran prevailed. Rayomand Banajee of Mumbai finished third.

In the second race, Saran wriggled out early in the first corner and picked up pace midway through to complete a sweet double. Rayomand and S. Narendran settled for the next two places.

Racing home

If Saran dazzled in his Swift, Radha did so with the Saloon car. The experienced driver from Chennai did not sweat much for his two wins.

Rain forced the postponement of both races in the premium Formula Rolon classes. They will be incorporated in the following rounds of the championship to be held in Chennai.
