Official conducts biennial audit of Tiruvannamalai administration

Routine files and files relating to action taken on public demands are inspected

Audit is also conducted to provide suggestions on enhancing quality of administration


TIRUVANNAMALAI: Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise J. Radhakrishnan conducted biennial audit of the Tiruvannamalai district administration for 2003-04 and 2004-05 at the Collectorate here on Friday.

Speaking at a review meeting held at the Collectorate in connection with the audit, Mr. Radhakrishnan said the routine files and the files relating to action taken on public demands are inspected during the biennial audit in view of the fact that the district administration functions with an objective of ensuring the welfare of people and meeting their basic needs.

The audit is also conducted to provide suggestions on enhancing quality of the administration and redressing the grievances of people.

A sum of Rs.2.50 crore has been sanctioned to Tiruvannamalai for the rehabilitation of prohibition offenders, especially to enable them to purchase milch cattle and undertake vegetable business.

The State official also visited various departments and inspected the registers and records maintained by the district officials and other subordinate officials.

Govindan, Personal Assistant (General) to the Collector, Chelliah, P.A. to the Collector (Development), S. Ganesan, P.A. to the Collector (Nutritious Meals), L. Kulandaivelu, District Supply Officer, Ganesan, Assistant Director of Panchayats, Sathiyamoorthy, Divisional Engineer, Highways, R. Thangaprakasam, Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Chandrasekhar, tahsildar, Tiruvannamalai, and M. Vijayakumar, Information and Public Relations Officer, participated in the meeting.
