PALAKKAD: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international general secretary Praveen Togadia has said the serial bomb blasts in Bangalore on Friday was aimed at destroying the country economically. “Mumbai, the economic capital of India, was attacked and then Jaipur. All these show that the terrorists who have international support and connections are out to destroy the country economically and take it back to 16th century where poverty and starvation remained,” he said. He was here to inaugurate a ‘gurupooja gurudakshina’ function organised by the district unit of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) here on Saturday. “The jihadis attacked the World Trade Centre to destroy the U.S. economy and they are now trying to destroy the Indian economy. The attack on the World Trade Centre resulted in economic reversal in the U.S. Some of the leading airline companies became bankrupt,” he said. “The attacks are not aimed at the Hindu population. It is to kill the Indian economy. That is why they are targeting economic centres,” Mr. Togadia said. — Staff Reporter
