SHIMLA: The Centre of Indian Trade Union and Communist Party of India (Marxist) have strongly condemned the incident of firing on the official premises of project manager of Sawra-Kudu Hydel project in Jubbal in the upper Shimla district here on Saturday night. CITU General Secretary Jagat Ram said the project executor, Avan Coastal Construction, a Kirloskar group partner has miserably failed to implement the tripartite agreement made before the labour commissioner. The project is being handled by Himachal Power Corporation, which has further employed sub contractors for the construction work. “The management has thrown out all the workmen leaders from job when they asked for the implementation of the agreement”, alleged the CITU. It has also demanded an immediate inquiry into the firing incident and withdrawal of all false cases against workers. Previous incidentDistrict Secretary of CPI-M Sanjay Chauhan who visited the site of firing said it is the second incident of firing by the management of big industrialists within a fortnight.
