“MSP for farm products to be hiked again”

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy said on Sunday the Central government is trying to hike the Minimum Support Price for agricultural products again.
It was only last month the government increased the MSP for common and Grade ‘A’ varieties of paddy for the current season.
If the MSP is hiked again , the rates will be applicable for next year.
Addressing a meeting of the AP Marketing Federation (MARKFED) Dr. Reddy said increasing the prices of agricultural commodities is an election promise of the United Progressive Alliance Government.
