Bangalore: Though the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) cancelled its scheduled grievance meeting on Saturday, several persons turned up at the BDA head office with complaints. BDA Commissioner H. Siddaiah heard 80 grievances regarding site allotment from citizens. A majority of the grievances received were related to the allotment of sites in Arkavathi Layout, stated an official press release. The Commissioner promised the complainants that suitable action would be initiated soon after the Supreme Court decided on the case, the release said. Some persons pointed out that there was delay in allotment of alternative sites to the revenue site holders, whose sites were acquired during the formation of layouts. The Commissioner instructed the officials to look into the causes of delay and expedite the process. Mr. Siddaiah announced that similar grievance meetings would be organised once a month at the BDA head office to solve people’s problems. BDA Engineer Member Shivashankar, Deputy Commissioner (Land Acquisition) Gowrishankar, Secretary V. Yashwanth participated in the meeting.
