Bansi beats Sim

HYDERABAD: Bansi Prathima outwitted Sim Yen De Yue of Singapore in the seventh round to record her seventh straight win in the under-seven category of the World Schools chess championship in Singapore on Sunday, according to information received here.

The Hyderabad girl fought back remarkably well with black pieces from a losing position after the opponent failed to come up with the right manoeuvres.

Earlier, Prathima outsmarted Singapore’s Karishma Harikrishnan in Cambridge Opening.

Tomorrow is a rest day and there are two more rounds in the event.
