New series of ‘Little Champs’ out of the box

Talented lot: Champions of the serial ‘Little Champs’ aired on Zee TV.

It’s raining music on channels. And the contest is getting keener as talent hunts have brought to fore many lilting voices giving a ray of hope for aspirants.

Zee which garnered a considerable following of its own for such concepts with its ‘Sa ri ga ma pa’ has now come up with a new Little Champs series. The earlier series was a run away hit not only for the kind of young voices that brought ce rtain freshness but also due to some apt handling and support in terms of richness in sets and props.

The musical voyage for the channel which began late in 2006 also had some very young boys and girls holding audiences captive with an ease of professionals.

For the new series, more than 3,000 children took auditions that were held not only in the State but also in Chennai and Bangalore. The channel is clearly excited over the new series and hopes that the gifted voices will take the programme still higher on the popularity rating tables. The judges for the show are Koti, Bhuvana Chandra and Usha. And host is Hema Chandra, the Indian Idol runner-up. Get drenched in musical downpour on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9 p.m.
