Waiver of water charges sought

VIJAYAWADA: The city unit of CPI (M) has demanded the Government to waive the water charges being collected from the poor.

CPI (M) floor leader in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) Ch. Babu Rao toured 46th division as part of CPI(M)’s Praja Chaitanya yatra on Sunday. Addressing the media on the occasion, he said that they welcome the slash in donation for providing water connection to the poor. In the same breath, the government should waive the water charges for the poor, he said.
